We’re delighted to share the news that College have approved £1.6m of funding to support the refurbishment of Reynolds Bar at Charing Cross campus.
Following a successful application to the President’s Community Fund last year, we were able to progress through the design stages, and with the approved funding, College Estates are now in a position to implement the plans.
Currently, the poor condition of the bar and spaces negatively impact the events and services on offer at Reynolds. This refurbishment will transform the bar and café into a cohesive, multi-purpose, and modern space, comparable to the facilities at other campuses and indeed other institutions. The refurbishment will also upgrade the Reynolds Café, including hot food provision. We hope the space will provide a much nicer environment for our students to socialise and relax during the day and into the evening.
As such, Reynolds will close at the end of Term 2 to allow work to being, with a planned re-opening at the start of the 2023/24 academic year in October. We’ll be planning a special closing party, so keep an eye on our social media for more information in the coming weeks!
This has been a really exciting project to be a part of and we will keep you updated throughout the refurbishment process. A huge thanks to our predecessors Sam Hammond and Sam Lee and the rest of the team for their work on this project.
