Community Awards
Event of the Year
Awarded to a stand-out student-led event, series of events, or trip that was innovative, exciting, and has left a lasting impression on those who attended.
Outstanding Club, Society or Project of the Year
A Club, Society, or Project that has made a significant contribution to student life, the Students’ Union, and Imperial College London. The group should have worked to significantly grow, attaining a wider range of members, holding innovative events, fundraising, supporting the community, and developing their group.
Campaign of the Year
A campaign or project delivered to the local or Imperial community for the broader benefit. Impactful and enduring, the campaign will have delivered real change and an increase in awareness on a particular issue, topic or interest and bring positive outcomes for the people or cause it aims to support.
New Club, Society or Project of the Year
A Club, Society or Project set up in the last year that has gone above and beyond the expected growth of a new society. Through this, they will have successfully established themselves as a group with a significant impact on the student experience, and on the Students’ Union.
Most Improved Club, Society or Project of the Year
A Club, Society or Project that has made a significant effort to develop this year, including membership recruitment, range and success of activity, maintaining good finances, and/or ensured committee development.
Inclusivity Award
The winner of this award will have demonstrated an outstanding effort to improve equality, diversity, inclusivity and / or accessibility within the Imperial community; whether within a student group, the student body, the wider Imperial College collective, or the local surrounding area.
Sustainability Award
The winner of this award will have demonstrated an outstanding effort to improve sustainability within the Imperial community; whether within a student group, the student body, the wider Imperial College collective, or the local surrounding area.
UG Representation Team of the Year
A team of student representatives that has ensured democratic and effective representation of the views of their peers and has improved the teaching, learning, and/or wellbeing experience of their students in a lasting & measurable way.
PG Representation Team of the Year
A team of postgraduate representatives that has ensured democratic and effective representation of the views of their peers and has improved the teaching, learning, and/or wellbeing experience of their students in a lasting & measurable way.
UG Academic Representative of the Year
An exceptional individual Academic Representative who has engaged with departmental/faculty staff, their students, and the Union to bring clear & measurable benefit to the learning & teaching experience of their peers.
UG Wellbeing Representative of the Year
An exceptional individual Wellbeing Representative who has engaged with departmental/faculty staff, their students and the Union to bring clear & measurable benefit to the wellbeing of their peers.
PG Representative of the Year
An exceptional individual Postgraduate Representative who has engaged with departmental/faculty staff, their students and the Union to ensure effective representation of the views of their peers and to improve the experience of students in a lasting & measurable way.
Individual Awards
Union Colour
Union Colours are awarded to individuals who have given significant contributions to the student experience at Imperial and the life of the Union, demonstrating outstanding dedication and commitment within their specific areas of involvement.
Student & Staff Partnership Award
This is awarded to a student (individual or group) and member of staff who have collaborated to deliver a new initiative/project to improve the student experience.
Imperial College Union Fellowship
The Imperial College Union Fellowship is awarded to a select few individuals who have gone above and beyond in their enhancement of the student experience in an exceptional manner, showing dedication to the Union across a number of different areas and over multiple years.
Your nomination must be a minimum of 50 words and a maximum of 250 words to be considered. Your nomination should clearly refer to all of the below criteria points to be considered and use examples where possible to aid the panel in making their decision:
- The Imperial College Union Fellowship shall only be awarded to those individuals who have continuously served the Union and/or enhanced the student experience in an exceptional manner, usually over a number of years. The three criteria described above should be present above a certain volume threshold.
