COVID-19 Information

You’re about to embark on an amazing journey at Imperial College. As your Union, your safety is our top priority. Over the next few months, you’re likely to be attending lots of in-person events in our venues, socialising and making new friends from all over the world. This is an important part of your student experience, and we’re here to ensure you are able to do this safely.

On 14 September 2021 the government released their COVID-19 Response – Autumn and Winter Plan 2021. As part of this plan the government announced that if the number of people in hospital increase to the point that the NHS was under unsustainable pressure it would introduce some measures, referred to as "Plan B". You may have seen some reference to this in the news a lot recently. At this stage the proposals under Plan B are not confirmed, nor is it confirmed that they will come into effect any time soon. However, the Union is reviewing these draft proposals and planning how to enact them in a way that is best for our members. We will keep you up to date of any confirmed changes, if they happen.

We understand that many students will have concerns and questions about their academic, financial, housing situation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are also aware that students’ wellbeing and mental health may also be affected. Throughout the pandemic we are committed to ensuring that your student experience is the best it can be. We are here to advise, support and represent you as well as provide you with opportunities to socialise, join clubs and societies, and have a fulfilling student experience at Imperial. Our elected Officer Trustees are also representing students’ interests at meetings with the College.

The situation is constantly evolving and policies and guidance are subject to change sometimes without much notice. The College’s COVID pages are a good source of information and they also have a comprehensive set of FAQ’s and latest guidance for students.

You can also keep up to date with the latest  Government Covid 19 Guidance.
