In TBH we aim to teach children about what it means to be a healthcare professional and what happens in hospitals, in hopes of helping them overcome White Coat Anxiety.
In TeddyBear Hospital we aim to teach children about what it means to be a healthcare professional and what happens in hospitals, in hopes of helping them overcome White Coat Anxiety and inspire them to learn more about Medicine.
Every Wednesday we visit a different primary school and teach children about simple topics in Medicine. For example, how to call 999; what exactly a ‘surgery’ is; why washing your hands is important or what is the purpose of a skeleton!
At the same time, we provide our volunteers with an opportunity to help the community, practice skills in paediatrics by interacting with children and even improve their teaching skills.
We are a very low-commitment group – so you can join us as often or as rarely as you want!
So, if you are passionate about teaching children about medicine, looking to do some low-commitment volunteering or simply curious about what we do, join us!
If you have any questions, or want to find out more, please drop us a message on social media or by email.
