A close-knit family more than a “society”, the IC Sri Lankan Society was founded over 30 years ago. We are one of the oldest and most successful societies, managing the 2nd largest budget at ICU. Our goal is to bring the vibrancy, diversity & warmth of Sri Lankan culture to Imperial + the UK.
Our flagship event “Sapphire” (https://icsapphire.co.uk/) is the largest Lankan event in the UK! A dinner dance that attracts over 1000 guests from across the country to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan food, entertainment & the company!
We have raised over £75,000 since our inception for charities uplifting Sri Lanka including aiding children in the Northern Province gain access to clean drinking water as well as helping restore eyesight to 1000s through cataract operations.
By contributing to Sapphire 2026s success, not only will you help raise an invaluable contribution to philanthropic ventures back home, but you will develop a skill set that is in short supply & in high demand.
Our celebration of Lankan culture extends throughout the year; from the Warwick University Cricket Tournament and our Christmas & Avurudhu meals!
