Jiu Jitsu (Aiuchi)

Category: Sports
Jiu Jitsu is a Japanese martial art which uses balance and movement rather than strength to defend against physical assault, so anyone can learn it! Central techniques are throws and joint locks; our training also incorporates strikes, groundwork, and weapon attacks. TRAINING INFO 2024-25: Wednesdays 8-10 pm, Union Gym. Saturdays 2-4 pm, Union Gym. All sessions are beginner-friendly! 3 FREE TASTER SESSIONS: You can come to any three sessions free of charge. SOCIALS: Hang around at the Union Bar after training to get to know the instructors and other club members (subsidised refreshments included). We aim to run 1-2 bigger socials this term, stay tuned! EVENTS: Our club is affiliated with the Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu Association, which has clubs across the UK. Nationals: Annual event where all the clubs come together for 1-2 days of focused training, a great chance to get to know people and improve your jitsu! GRADINGS: Gradings are held throughout the year, allowing you to progress through the belts during your time at Imperial. See you on the mat soon!
