Last Tuesday, you might have been one of the thousands of students who came down to South Kensington campus and delighted in a sea of sweets, music, vintage cars and the odd plane or two. Sadly, this isn’t just an average weekday. The Welcome Fair is one of the biggest events of the year – and 2022 was back with a bang after Covid!
If you were there, thank you so much! You might have been one of:
- 3085 students who bought 6930 memberships from our clubs and societies!
- 3500 students receiving a Union goodie bags
- 500 students filling out our Advice Survey
I want to say a big thanks to every single club, society, liberation officer and campaign group who came and brought their A-Game to the fair. Our student volunteers truly are the heart and soul of Imperial College Union and, it’s fair to say, you will have changed people’s lives on Tuesday. I joined IC Football in my first year and have ended up here as your Deputy President (Clubs & Societies)! It was where I found my friends, learned new skills and had some unforgettable experiences. I’d also like to thank Union staff for putting in the hours lifting and shifting and keeping our students safe on the day.
