Price
£100.00
This year’s Imperial Cup is on Saturday 1st March! This is one of the biggest Mixed Lacrosse tournaments in the country at Harlington Sports Grounds, London, which will be a day full of lacrosse playing and fun for everyone! Once you buy a ticket you will be sent a Microsoft Form to complete your sign up, please fill it out as soon as possible. Full details are below, and any other questions please dm us or email! Where: Imperial College Sports Grounds, Harlington When: 01/03/2024. Registration will open at 8:15am with the first teams playing at 9:00am sharp; award ceremony at 5:00pm! Eligibility: Max. 18 players per squad. We require teams to bring 2 Level 1 umpires each (this will not eat into any playing time for your team!) and a first aid kit. We additionally require a Team Manager for each team, responsible for administrative tasks and raising concerns/queries on behalf of the team on the day. Facilities: There are changing rooms, toilets and parking available next to the pitch. We’ll also have a food truck and merchandise present throughout the day and there is a Co-Op a short walk away. Rules: We will be following the England Lacrosse Mixed Rules (https://www.englandlacrosse.co.uk/mixed-lacrosse-leagues). Imperial Cup will also adopt a more inclusive and welcoming approach to some specific parts within the ELA Guidance for Young People Playing in Senior Teams. The regulations outline the current approach to minimum age for junior players (U18s) playing for senior teams, on the basis of emotional and psychological state rather than physical development. After considering advice offered by ELA, for the purposes of Imperial Cup 2023, we will be replacing these regulations with the following: “All junior players may not play for a senior Mixed team unless aged 14 or above by 31st August 2025.” In addition to this, junior players must submit completed Player Approval Forms and Playing Up Consent Forms signed by a coach (current school/club), proposer, parent/guardian and tournament organiser. If any Team Manager has a concern regarding the minimum age of players within another team, please raise this with the umpiring officials and tournament organisers at the game who are equipped to be able to assess and resolve this. We will be strongly recommending any captains, coaches or parents who are concerned about their child’s ability to play within the tournament, to undertake an individual risk-assessment to ensure they are medically fit to participate. For further information regarding additional health and safety precautions to safeguard junior players, please request the in-depth risk assessment submitted to Imperial College Union and Imperial Athletes, the governing body for sport at Imperial College.
